George Feild Memorial Scholarship
Rules and Procedures
This scholarship is named as a memorial to George E. Feild, formerly of Craig County, Virginia who was one of the primary driving forces in establishing successful medical and dental services in the county.
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Craig County, who:
· has satisfied all requirements from being “Home schooled” or
· is graduating from Craig County High School.
· has NOT attained the age of 21 at the time of application is due.
· must be registered to pursue a degree in a healthcare or medical field of study.
· must have been accepted by a degree-awarding college, university, institution or other certificated on-campus program of at least one year (2 semesters or 3 quarters) or 2-4 years in length.

IMPORTANT!!! All entries MUST be POST MARKED on or before April 15 of the applicant’s senior year AND include ALL of the aforementioned information.
The scholarship committee (the Committee) shall retain all applications until the selection process is completed then turn them over to the CCRHCC secretary for retention.
Criteria to be considered by the Committee shall include: GPA, extracurricular and community related activities.

If selected, CCRHCC will issue a check payable to the educational institution where the student has been accepted, applicable to the student’s account. If the student fails to enroll or otherwise complete any semester after the award of this scholarship, the entire amount of the scholarship paid to the institution shall be deemed a loan, repayable without interest within 24 months. For students enrolled at institutions on the quarterly system the loan repayment terms shall be in increments of one third based on the level of completion.
Only the successful applicant will be notified. Applicants shall consent to the use of their names in local newspaper(s) or otherwise for publicity purposes. The successful applicant agrees to make all reasonable effort to attend a dinner or school function for the purpose of a public announcement and awarding of the scholarship.
All applications and attachments become the property of CCRHCC and none will be returned. Applicants acknowledge their willingness to receive information from the CCRHCC.
Any answer for which the application form does not provide sufficient space may be supplemented by attachment of a separate sheet referencing that question.
